Karina Junker

Karina Ronquillo Junker, known professionally as Karina Junker, is one of Hollywood’s most sought-after voice over artists due to her outstanding skill in speaking both English and Spanish without an accent. Originally from Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico – but born in Brownsville, Texas – Junker has had enormous strides as a principal performer in the Hispanic and U.S. markets. She is the VO announcer for Patrón, Star Wars Visions, National Cancer Institute, and JAMRS for the U.S. Department of Defense. Ms. Junker is the former VO announcer for Ford, Best Buy, Starbucks, Chrysler, Cricket Wireless, Hershey’s, Cacique, UPS Latin America, and L’Oreal. From 2015 to 2018, Karina voiced thousands of commercials and promos for Curacao department stores and was also the Spanish-speaking Alexa-type voice in the Pringles TV commercial “Aparato Triste”” that aired during the 2019 Super Bowl LIII.Karina’s on-screen film and TV credits include Kingdom, Mercury Plains, A Girl Named Jo, and Sex Sent Me to the ER. Recently, she’s been featured in Bombshell, Guest House, and you’ll be able to see her on Gaslit, a new drama series set to air in 2022 on Starz.Junker is graduate of Columbia University and has a master’s degree in clinical psychology. Her post-graduate studies in theater, voice and acting were at Michael Howard Studios in New York City with Patsy Rodenburg. Junker’s undergraduate studies were held at Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 1998 to 2001 and she graduated from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico in 2002. Her first on-camera TV commercial was in June 2003 for Tricom in the Dominican Republic.Karina had to overcome tremendous odds in her twenties. Her mother, Leticia Junker, was involved in an automobile accident in 2004 that left her in a vegetative state for nearly a decade. Unfortunately, Leticia passed away from complications in 2013. However, Karina attributes her extremely hard work and ethic to this tragedy and has expressed that had it not been for her mother’s car accident, she would not be the person she is today.During her free time, Karina loves to run. She’s an 18-time marathoner and has run over thirty races around the world, including TCS New York City Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Asics LA Marathon, Schneider Electric Paris Marathon, BMW Frankfurt Marathon, Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon, Chevron Houston Marathon, among many others.”

Fun Facts

In 1998, Junker went to Najayo, Dominican Republic to do community service for two weeks during the summer. She loved the DR so much that she decided to stay in Santo Domingo and go to college. Junker attended Universidad Iberoamericana and studied psychology from 1998 to 2001.

Junker transferred her college credits from the DR to the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico. She completed her senior year of college there and graduated in 2002.

In January 2004, Junker began graduate school at Columbia University in New York City. Three months later, her mother was in an automobile accident that left her in a vegetative state. Junker felt she had no other option but to continue her studies. Despite the difficulty and hardship, she graduated in 2006 and obtained her Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in clinical psychology.

Spanish is her native language.

Junker's first TV commercial was in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for Tricom, which is now known as Altice Dominicana.
