Ambrit Millhouse

Born Ambrit Nichole Millhouse, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ambrit was introduced to performing as early as her kindergarten class. Always the “outspoken”” she took advantage of every opportunity to be on stage even if it was in a spelling bee. She went on to study at the School for Creative and Performing Arts double majoring in drama and creative writing. In 2000 Ambrit was given a featured part in the movie Traffic (2000) starring Michael Douglas. Bit by the bug, it wouldn’t be long (2002 to be exact) before she took to the road, destination… Hollywood. In 2003 she made her television debut under the tutelage of Bernie Mac as Cousin Lynette in The Bernie Mac Show (2001).Having an instinct for comedy, Ambrit went on to study improv at the famous Los Angeles Groundlings School. Later on she showcased her talent by landing a role opposite her instructor Kevin Kirkpatrick on the NBC hit show How I Met Your Mother (2005) alongside Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Harris.Ambrit’s film and television career to date has shown her versatility in a wide array of colorful characters reaching from the far depths of murderous drama to belly laughing family comedy. From titles such as America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back (1988), The Shield (2002) , Southland (2009) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) to Bones (2005) , Shameless (2011) and a recurring role on The Defenders (2010), to name a few, this is only the beginning.”
