Gurbachan Singh

Gurbachan Singh (famous as Gurbachchan Singh) is an Indian actor who is very active in Hindi and Punjabi Cinema since 1970s. He started his career from movie Kucche Dhaage (1973). He is known for his work in movies like Inkaar (1977), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da (1985), Kranti (1981), Kahani Kismat Ki (1973), Tell Me O Kkhuda (1973) and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013). He has done more than 200 movies mainly as a stuntman and a body double. He came to Bombay in 1970 from Gurdaspur, Punjab.

Before breaking into acting and stunts in the movies, Gurbachchan was a wrestler in his home town of Gurdaspur during the 1970s.

Wrestled Randhawa Singh in Indore,India in the early 70s. He also wrestled Saudagar Singh.

His father had old relations with some who worked with Ajit Singh Deol at Gurdaspur's railway station. He sent Gurbachan to Dharmendra's house with a letter. Gurbachan was hesitant as he did not know Dharmendra personally. Dharmendra encouraged Gurbachan to stay at his house and help him get work in films as a stunt double. This was in October 1973.

Family had old relations with Dara Singh's family and Raj Khosla's family from Gurdaspur India.

When he arrived in Mumbai he left his suitcases in Dara Singh's garage. Later he requested Dara Singh to help him get into films. Dara dissuaded him and told him the film line was very hard and he should become a full time pro wrestler. Gurbachan stated he wanted to act because he was not sure if he could make any money as a wrestler.
