Prashant Singh

Prashant Singh has been associated with Hindi cinema for over a decade. He is from Allahabad who had no plans of becoming a casting director . However as fate would have it, Singh’s life changed, when he moved from Delhi to Mumbai in mid 2008 for exploring work in film industry. He established himself as a renowned casting director from Citylights,which was his first commercial success and then there was no stopping.Feature films like Daddy,Trapped, Gulab Gang, Ghoul, Tumbbad followed. His strength also lies in training actors and helping them deliver more meaningful performances. He has trained contemporary Indian actors like Sohum Shah, Sunil Grover, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandas, Vani Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, Sara Ali Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, Manushi Chillar, Masaba Gupta , Manoj Bajpayee & Soha Ali Khan. Prashant recalls that when he moved to Mumbai casting as a full time profession had begun few years ago and when he entered this space he started appreciating its nuances.Understanding director’s mind frame, actors psyche and demands of the script helped him cast and deal with actors better. He started Wayward monk casting company few years ago. He has also acted in films like Titli and Watermelon.
