Quotes
Rajesh was the most versatile among heroes with whom I have worked. Rajesh was like one of the seven wonders for the industry. There was magic in his face and mannerisms. He was shy and conservative but misunderstood. He did not use any make up ever. Would anybody from the current crop of actors do a film like Bawarchi? What if he came late, he gave shots in one take or would give shots within a hour which another person in his place would take 7 or 8 hours.
I am very much satisfied with my career. Only regret is I could never learn dancing nor could act in a film directed by Gulzar. Had I learnt dancing maybe I would have had done few more films, but the advantage I had was I got varieties of of roles as lead heroine from 1970 till 1985 and then as supporting actress, whereas my contemporaries couldn't get as many landmark films with women centric roles as I did. In a way not learning to dance proved to be blessing in disguise for me .Despite my inability to dance, I had long career in Hindi films, that's very surprising. Credit goes to directors who gave me strong lead roles throughout the career.
