Hawa pe rakhe sukhe patte, awaara - 2
Dry leaves kept on air, stray - 2
Paon zamin pe lagte hi udh lete hain dobara
As soon as the feet land on the ground, they fly again
Awaara awaara awaara
vagabond vagabond
Na shaakh jude, na jadh pakde - 2
Don't get suspicious, don't get caught - 2
Mausam mausam banjara awaara awaara awaara - 2
Weather Weather Banjara Awara Awara - 2
Jhonka jhonka yeh hawa hoo jhonka jhonka yeh hawa
gust gust this wind am gust gust this wind
Roz udaye re jaki daar gayi woh toh bit gaya
Everyday Uday Re Zaki Dar Gaya He Toh Bit Gaya
Jaaki maati gayi waka meet gaya koi na bulaye re
Jaki Maati Gayi Waka Meat Gaya Koi Nahi Calle Re
Rut rang liye aayi bhi gayi muthiyan na khuli berang rahi
Even the rut did not open, the muthian remained colorless
Sookha patta banjara (awaara awaara awaara) - 2
Dry Leaf Banjara (Vagabond Stray) - 2
Haule haule yeh hawa - 2 khel khilaaye re
Hale Haule Ye Hawa - 2 Khel Khiladi Re
Khole dhup kabhi ghole chhaon kabhi
Open sunshine sometimes dissolve shade
Kabhi pankh bane bane paon kabhi
Sometimes Feathers Become Feet Sometimes:
Dhul deekhaaye re
dhul dikhaye re
Koi thaa na mili na hawa na zamin
No one was found, neither air nor land
Na umid ugi na dilasa kahin
neither hope nor consolation
Udta jaaye bechara awaara awaara awaara ..
Let the poor stray tramp fly..

Summary
After the passing of his Pondicherry-born mentor, Susanna, Mumbai-based Dr. Arun Kumar Singh narrates his story to his wife, Nalini. With photographs from an old album that he has never shared with anyone, he informs her as to how Susanna caught him stealing; got him to quit his job & enrolled in a Panchgani school, as well as arranged for further education in St. Petersburg. While Susanna herself searched for true love and her marriages with six deceased men – including the abusive Major Edwin Rodrigies; drug-addicted and womanizer guitarist-singer Jamshed Singh Rathore; impotent and abusive Mohammad Wasiullah Khan; bigamist/spy Nicolai Vronski; Inspector Keemat Lal; and Dr. Modhusodon Tarafdar – men who influenced her life, broke her heart – and met with sudden and mysterious deaths.
