Lyrics
Matwalee aankhowale o alabele dilwale
O albele dilwale with drunken eyes
Dil teraa ho rahega gar too ise apna ley
Heart will be yours even if you take it
Matwalee aankhowale..........
Drunk eyes.........
Ho tujhko shayad dhokha ho gaya, sun e hasin mai woh nahee
Yes, you may have been deceived, listen, I am not that beautiful
Too hai toh mehfil me rang hai, too jo nahee toh kuchh bhee nahee
If there is a lot, then there is color in the gathering, even if it is not, then nothing
Matwalee aankhowale..........
Drunk eyes.........
Jabse tujhko dekha ek najar, mujhe kya huwa mere dilbar
Ever since I saw you, what happened to my heart?
Mujhpe apna jadu naa chala, kaha meraa sun kahee aur hai manjil meree
I did not know my magic, where is my listening and my destination is mine
Kah sun ley do bate pyar kee duniya teree mehfil teree
Say listen do baatey love ki world teri mehfil teri
Mai teree duniya me ajanabee kahee aur manjil meree
I am a stranger in your world somewhere else my destination
Matwalee aankhowale..........
Drunk eyes.........
Chhote Nawab
About the movie
Summary
Naive, milk-drinker, childlike Chhote Nawab, born on February 29th, lives a wealthy lifestyle in the Bombay-based Nawab family consisting of his widowed dad; sister, Mehnuma and her husband, Safdar. His father has borrowed money from Bhagwanti Lala through Safdar’s prompting and is heavily in debt. When Bhagwanti gets a Court Order, the Nawab has a stroke and passes away, leaving Chhote at the hands of a merciless Safdar who beats, abuses, and drives him out. Unable to find work with the mind of a 5-year old, he is taken in by his dad’s friend, Nawab Nazir Hussain from Calcutta, who had arranged his marriage with his daughter, Roshan, much to the chagrin of his wife. Upon arrival in Calcutta, Chhote is looked after by Nazir and Roshan, who educate him, and in about a year Chhote matures considerably, behaves according to his age, and romances Roshan. Then things change dramatically when Chhote starts making money through his race-horse, Roshni, substitutes milk with alcohol, starts getting independent, ill-tempered and bad mannered, and replaces Roshan with a cabaret dancer, Sophie!!
